To be covid safe, i will bring the chicks to you outside upon arrival to do the handoverthis first batch of 6 chicks are now 2 weeks old and they aren’t using a heat source or a brooder any more - i have them in a plastic box within a warm room in my homei’m hatching through to december and will more available over the next few weeks so i can reserve chicks ahead of hatchestheir first offspring are absolutely beautiful - i’ve dubbed them twiglets! they’re a buff/wheaten colour and from the emerging signs of this wing feathers, they have all the signs of gorgeous markings in tweed like shades and they are even more mini than my original micro bantam twiggy was as a young chicki should point out that they are unsexed so it’s pot luck at this pointthey have been lovingly tended by myself in a scrupulously clean environment so they’re in perfect healthi think they will make the most perfect pets for households with young children and ideal for those looking for poultry for smaller gardensi can’t say what the laying rate would be as these are the first of their kind but the silkie cross mother lays every dayfrom my own beautiful band of mixed bantams, i’ve bred a cross using my miniature bantam cockerel twiggy and his sweet little silkie cross girlfriend skye (shown in the image gallery)
