I have had 44 japanese quail hatch out of 53eggs,they eggs came from my own adult quailsthey will need a heatlamp till 4 or 5weeks old then will need to live at room temperature till 7weeks old when they can then move outside into a rabbit hutch with separate run or run underneathduring the summer they can be sexed at 4/5 weeks old but during the colder weather from now can’t tell the sexes till about 8/10 weeks old this is because they need 14hrs of daylight time to be able to either lay eggs the girls or males will foam out of their bits & will crow slightlythey are drinking water but they will need stones in the bottom of the water dish till they are 2weeks old as this helps them to not fall & drownthe quails are unsexedcollection westbury wiltsthey are best living in 3s or more so i will only let them leave in 2 or morethey are eating chick crumb which they will eat till 6weeks oldwhen they are 4weeks old they will need mixed corn & layers pellets mixed in the the crumb but each day add more corn & pellets & have less crumb then at 6weeks old the should be fully off crumbthey hatched out on tuesday 6th october,they are ready to leave nowonly 16 quails leftany more information then please contact methey will start to fly at about 2weeks oldmore due to hatch on 22nd october, last hatch till next year

A single italian quail that is one of 6 we bought at the start of lockdown to ensure we would have sufficient eggsshe had a bloody area near her eye and i don't know if it was another quail or if my dog had managed to claw at heri am therefore offering her here to a good home! we are currently handling her twice a day as she goes in the run under a box during the day and sleeps indoors at nightthere is not a bully in the flock and they are getting along harmoniously, however as they are all to be sold, i am reluctant to put her back in with the othershowever, the others were attacking her because of the bloodthe other 5 and all the equipment are offered separatelyobviously, this is not necessary to continue! read moreshe had a poorly injury that she has now recovered from
