Antique mahogany writing slope in a very good condition, the box is generally sound, there are age related marks, all veneer has been restored intact except for a small crack running along the lidthe lock alone tells me this is a georgian slope and all fittings point to that periodthe partitions have been lovingly replaced but the originals are inside the slope should they be neededthis slope has been waxed after restoring it from a bad french polish and can be given a real coat of any covering you choose(the wood feather pen comes with the slope) read morethe cut glass ink wells are free of chips and cracks, and are still usablethe skiver has a chip of wood missing from it but this shows its originalityinternally it has been restored to as good as it can be expectedthe felt on at least three surfaces has been replaced and the base is fully felted to help stop damage
