'of the imitation of christ' - aids to the inner lifei found a few newspaper cuttings inside, presumably from the era, adding to the collectabilityotherwise the book is in fabulous condition for its agehaving a turn out and this is, i believe from research, one of four part books written by thomas à kempis circathe spine is torn slightly as you can see from photos and the leather covering is worn in places round the edgesarchdeacon of cleveland, canon of york, rector of kirby misperton, and rural dean of maltongold embossed title on frontthank you for looking:)the pages are intact with no tears, and the expected colour changes of agethere is a small red mark on page 127, i'm uncertain what from, possibly a red pentranslated and edited by the venwhether religious or not, this is a beautiful little book to own, and from what i can discover a rare antiquitygold edging to pagesany questions please asklondon henry frowde, oxford warehouse and longmans, green & co
