In expected used condition for a balance of this age & natureplease feel free to make an offeri'm sure they could be further improved by someone who knows what they're doing, but i've just left them in "as found" conditionthey would polish up nicely toothe centre pivot is just over 4 1/4" highi think they originally would have been silver or silver plated, as the counter weight still has some silvering on itthe weights in some of the images are just there to help to demonstrate that it balances)these are fresh to the market & rarely come up for sale, as they're getting very hard to findthe base is approx just under " at its longest part & 5" at its widest parti have tried some of my own weights & suprisingly they're still fairly accuratei haven't noticed a maker stamp or namecan post at extra costthe wooden base looks like it's split to the rare edge & has been historically gluedthere's a large piece of lead screwed to the underside of the brass plate, i'm guessing to calibrate it(the scales don't come with any weightsthe underside of the base amazingly still has its original paper liningon the flat brass plate it states; the graduated arm goes from 0 toplease study the images, as they also form part of the description & please do your own researchthe flat brass plate also has two brass tabs, to prevent letters from migrating towards the graduated armthere are expected impact marks, where the bottom of the counter weight has impacted the wooden basepostage includes being signed fora rare style of antique postal scalesthere are a few scratches, both on the brass, the counter weight & on the wooden lacquered base
