An antique, marine, navigational boxwood & brass parallel rule, for restorationit's stamped "james imra & sons lim and norie & wilson london" also stamped "captn field's improved" (it might read imran) "john william norie (), was a mathematician, hydrographer, chart maker & publisher of nautical books most famous for his epitome of practical navigation () which became a standard work on navigation" "the parallel ruler was invented in about by fabrizio mordente but it was not in common use until the 18th c" in expected used condition for an item of this ageplease study the images, as they also form part of the description & please do your own researchpostage includes being signed fora nice large size, as it measures 18" long by 2 3/4" it would look great on a desk or even wall mounted with some nautical bitsvery tactile & good in the handit would further benefit from a waxcan post at extra costi tend to prefer items as they areit has chips to the corners, has little dints/dents & has a few paint marks but is in nice original condition
