The indian runner, like most breeds of domestic duck, is a development of the wild mallardhave 4 ducks available - and one drake indian runners were imported into europe and attracted attention because of their tall, upright bodies and their incredible reputation for egg-layingthe most wonderful thing about ducklings is the first time they find they can swim in their water bowlducklings take 28 days to hatch so i leave mother duck to this taskthey had been found in the east indies, from where they get their present name, but were referred to as 'penguin ducks' by dutch explorers and some of the early importersits evolution was probably determined more by human influence than natural selection over the hundreds of years they have been in the islands of indonesiai have read that ducklings shouldn’t be allowed to swim until they have their feathers – but as long as they are warm and can get dry quickly – and the water is very shallow – i have never had a problem with tiny ducklings having a swim! when they get older and go in a proper pond, they discover that they can swim underwater and they get so excited splashing from one end of the pool to the other, wonderful to watchhave mum and dadthese ducks were hatched in spring by mother duck

I will be having indian runner ducklings hatching on the 11th of may, they will be indexed and ready to leave 3 days after hatching, at this age they will require a heat lamp, they will be fed on none medicated chick crumb, duckling can be very messy so i would prefer a home that is used to ducks, they grow very fast and will be adult size by 6 weeks of age, they will require a fox proof house to stay in at night and a pool big enough for them to have a swim and to be able to duck their heads, if you have any enquiries please message methank you x read morei have whites, black, trout, mallard, welsh harlequin colours all running together, they are family pets

Drake call duck in chocolate mallard colourmother is mallard/chocolate mallard and father is khakireason for sale is he is just a smashing drake in terms of looking after ladieshonestly he is a fantastic drake and just the figurehead a flock needswe have tried removing him to a different run; he's just too hunky and they cry out relentlessly for him! we have the two pens so we are in no rush and this young lad is safe with us but we would like a little more flexibility as we come into breeding season in spring, and for no more potential tussles so we don't have to worry about our old boy! price reflects his good build and his genuinely good natureleave him with a group of females and he very nicely guides them around and shows natural nesting spotshis flanks do brighten up in summerwe have named him oswin and although he was hand reared (hatched under his mother) he has naturally reverted to a very duck-oriented drake rather than bothering with us humans too muchthat being said he is very relaxed but hasn't ever tried to mount any wellies! he has a good little beak on him and a great personalityif you have girls needing to be chaperoned, oswin is your man! any questions, please ask! seeing some photographs of your set-up would be lovely to ensure he is going to a good home! read moreunfortunately we do have less assertive drakes and an elderly (8 year old!) drake who has recently had an eye surgically removed so we want to calm down the flock dynamic and ensure the girls aren't too favourable of this young whipper-snapper as their preference for him makes them a little spiky towards other maleshatched on father's dayhe isn't aggressive but he is very assertive
