We have available 3 pairs (male, female) of grey south american rhea looking for new homesthe males can be protective in the breeding season but do not kick! they may peck but full advice can be provided as to how to combat thisthey can be kept in standard extended stock fencing however if startled, can jump 6ft???? so what do you need to know? ???? adult rheas are easy to care for and can be treated much the same as poultrythese inquisitive birds are 7/8 months old and are dna sexed (hence the yellow spray on them) and come with certificates for each birdthey thrive on ostrich pellets and require plenty of space to exercise their legs so ideal in paddocks or orchard types of setupthey do not necessarily require shelter however a field shelter or stable when the weather is really horrid is appreciatedthey are currently housed at night and go in for foodthey are good forages and hardygood, kind homes only pleasethese youngsters may possibly require protection from foxes still depending on your setupfull support and advice available
