This is a security watchmans time piecethe clock, which is 'blick' make, works and keeps ok time being wound using the keythe lock which keeps the unit secure has a broken upstand which could be repairedon reaching different points along the route 'keys' secured by a chain were inserted into the unit, turned and an imprint of the time and location made on the paperthere are apertures through which the clock, can be seen and for the security key to be insertedwhen in use the watchman is tasked to do 'rounds' of the area / buildingthere is a roll of recording paper fitted and also the ink ribbon which marks the paperat the end of shift the unit is returned to the supervisor who can open it and check the time/place marktodays technology has made these devices obsoletethe whole round unit is carried in a leather case with a nylon type strap (original)the item can be collected (covid safe) or posted at cost (it weighs 3kg) it is also listed on other sites read morethe unit is then locked, the key being kept by the supervisorthere would be a different key at each point leaving an identifier for that pointthe key is not originalas the unit is closed a mark is punched into the paperat the start of the shift the clock is wound, paper and ribbon checkedthis damage was done before i got the unit, probably because there is no key for that part
