Oxfam shop smithdown road this is a genuine adler alto 23-3 recorder in a wood which i understand is maple, although i stand to be correctedthe recorder was made in the german democratic republic back in the day by "veb blockflotenfabrik the sole producer of the genuine double tuned adler recorders" circa and the style is "baroque"size 48 cm length 14 diameter at widest point (approx) weight 300g see oxfam website for delivery information read morethis is a lovely vintage instrumentthe thumb hole has virtually no wear at allthe varnish is a lovely golden brown and uniform throughout, there is some wear and tear as you can see from the imagesthe tenons are firm but not tight and are wound with cotton as was the practice for the period of manufacturethe original box is in good conditionthere is the usual worn varnish at the tip of the mouthpiece but apart from that i can see little or no damage
