Harland & wolff - original art deco - 2 arm chairsthis is a pair of art deco chairs made by/for harland and wolff for one of their shipsmy grandfather bought the set in a sale at a shipyard in the mid 50's, along with many other pieces, and we believe these items came off the mv georgic when it was decommissionedi suspect it is the construction of the pieces themselves - with their slotted back panelsboth pieces are entirely original - so some wear and tear is obvious on piping around arm rests, and balding patches (again on arm rests) in places, the chairs are still in great condition in terms of springs and structureavailable for collection onlythey are covered in a deco fan design, two colour, wool un-cut moquettei have tried to find out what the patent was for but have drawn a blankthe pieces have removable backs that slot into a metalhousing in the base, so that they can be removed when carrying the pieces down narrow corridors (i think)i think the photos are true for the quality of the items - but i am happy to add more photos of detailed areas of wear if requiredhappy to answer any questionsmy grandparents used this as their lounge furniture until theirhouse was sold in the late 80âs at which point it was moved to my parents house, and when i movedto my own place i took it with meeach piece has a 'harland and wolff' metal plate on the base
