I had to get the first volume from the library (that is the first part of the life of edward the vi and the protectorate of the duke of somerset)not that much about edward and not that much about the duke of northumberlandthe minutia is excrutiating at times and in vol i i learned more about sheep than i think i ever needed to knowthe dominance of the duke of northumberland this is an ex library book and the second volume in the setthis man's research is so good that i find him quoted everywhere else when it comes to edward viby the way if you are looking for the schemer who put his daughter in law on the throne and poisoned edward vi you won't find him in this book500+ pages, hardback with typical library covervol ii (this volume) has detailed accounts of protestants and the protestantism of the time i skipped a lot of it eventually
