The guitar is clean and in quite good condition for a guitar that was made infrom then on i was intrigued and did some digging and found the guy that built the guitar was living in a care home in nottinghami managed to find out that from the guy that i bought the guitar from that he’d swapped it for a motor bike (bsa 175 bantam) in tintagel of the summer ofhow do i know it was made in because there is a punched 70 to the top of the headstock? the provenance of this guitar is very interesting as it was made in a garage just outside newquay in by three guys starting upian and rob were living in the rented house and eventually started working togethera set of new string were added making it very easy and comfortable to playit’s just had the saddle replaced (bone) and had a great setupbut after a few years they went bankrupt inhe said that they were always working on a shoestring so couldn’t really advertise as it cost too muchkris told me ian was the main salesman and that most of their guitars were sold around falmouth and padstow areaabout a month later his goddaughter got in touch to say he had died from coronavirusthey decided they would build 12 string and bass guitars hoping to find that knish marketkris also told me he was 94 and had just had a fall so for a couple of weeks i was only getting snippets of information then everything went quietafter a couple of years they did move into some premises in the newquay areaeric davison known as kris was the man in chargeit’s also had a set of tuners added some time agoyeah there’s the odd ding here and there but nothing seriousi did ask kris what happened
