I replaced the bridge and tail piece with gotoh nickel ones a while ago as an upgrade, it comes with a stag hard casethere are a few light scuff marks/scratches to the back of the body but nothing to deep, really a great guitar only selling as i haven't been able to play it for the last few years due to illness and decided i need to let it goguitar is in excellent condition, all electrics work perfectly, plays like a dreamgrab a great guitar

The tuners are yamaha stamped, made in japan and probably gotohon the subject of the top - cedar is a lighter and more responsive tonewood, giving the guitar better acoustic volume and projectioni'm pretty sure that the electronics were subcontracted to lr baggsmy particular guitar has been played and does bear some scars as a result - but there are no cracks or other structural damage, just cosmeticthe cpx-15 comes from yamaha's "custom shop" in japan, where each guitar is handmade by a single luthierthis guitar was made in december according to its custom shop serial number - qlz009a - and the specifcation includes a solid cedar top, mahogany back and sides, mahogany neck and an ebony fingerboard and bridgebut i've never been able to confirm this for certain - most of the electronics on yamaha guitars are made in house to a high qualitythis is a professional grade guitar, not to be compared to lesser instrumentsthe built-in preamp and pickup provide lots of sound control from the guitar - and you can blend an on-board condenser mic with a piezoit sounds great whether plugged in or unpluggedcombine that with mahogany back and sides, and you have a wonderfully warm sound, not to mention beautyf you're familiar with the cpx15 series, then you probably expect a guitar made in korea or taiwanalthough the cpx guitars are a smaller "mini-jumbo" size, they feature a full depth body for superior tone and volume when played unplugged

The gotoh style machine heads / tuners are new the hard tail bridge is new the jack plate is new the strings are new the electrics and scratch are from a vintage strat not sure of its origin but it sounds great, the scratch has natural fading with black pu covers and vintage style cream knobs the pickups came with the scratch plate and sound v goodthis is not made by fender its a parts caster unbranded this is defiantly unusual inbred mongrel telecaster / stratocaster hybrid solid checkerboard body teak oak this is a truly one off unusual guitar, it’s a bit wonky and odd looking, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder ?? it’s a sold wood checkerboard design, made from teak oak and another hard wood that i’m unsure of ? a lot of time has gone into this body but it’s like cosmetic surgery gone a bit south lol saying all that though, it is a really nice guitar to play, sounds great and has good balance and weightthe strat scratch doesn’t quite fit to the slightly odd tele style body beautiful effect, some small burns are on the front, see photos the neck is new with a fender water slide added this can very easily be remove if wished, as it’s not been varnished over the top of ita tone drop mod has been added to the bridge pickup so it can now be tone controlled with the bottom tone knob, a nice little mod that was never part of any strat ? read morethere’s a few quids worth of bits without the body so please bear that in mind, i’ve started bids at less than it cost me for the parts alone without the body so get yourself bidding you won’t see anotherif it doesn’t sell i’ll harvest the parts for another body, but it would be a shame to break it up now it’s a runner

It is fitted with a fishman under saddle pickup and has rather expensive gotoh delta 510's 21-1 high ratio tuning gearsbrief specs - sitka spruce soundboard with incredible looking african blackwood back and sides with a nice maple binding (all solid wood) and abalone decor on the sound holea mahogany neck with ebony fretboard gives a nice easy playing feelthis comes with a hiscox light flight solid casein terms of transparency it appears that the tortoise coloured pick guard has been fitted at some stage and it very very slightly misaligned from the sound holei am asking £ or very near offerif you need any more info please message or contact meif it is any more than that i will pay the difference so you know what the cost will bethe dense blackwood back and sides gives this guitar an incredible sound particularly on the bass sideoverall the guitar is in excellent condition with just a few minor age related blemishes and marksnone of them show up on any pictures i have takeni was told from the seller i purchased it from that alan had said that due to the high quality of these instruments they would be in the region of £ new if he was still making themalso there appears to be a non visible edging on the varnish on the top / middle boutas i live on the isle of lewis i am prepared to have it couriered(unless you want to come over and try it:) i guess costing would be about £25if it is less i will reduce the cost accordinglyfor sale due to scaling down is my northworthy castleton guitarcastleton guitars are very rare as alan does not make them anymoreit is a hand made instrument made by alan marshall from derbyshire init is solid and is only barely noticeable when you run a finger over it
