Like most ponies he isn’t programmed toy so does have his own mind, can will try the least, on the other hand he will stop if the child stop riding which is what makes him so good for little ones with balance issues, for the first year my daughter rode him with balance support reins to help with contact and connectionlead rein/ first ridden he is a saint on the ground loves a fuss will stand all day to be brushed and groomed, he’s great with vet dentist and farrier never had a sick or sorry day, monty has given us many fun days in the lead rein rings from local little shows to county level, dressage in local shoes and county shows show jumping on and off lead locally and cricklands wales and westwe have taken him all last season hunting on the lead he’ll hack out on lead of another horse through fords and busy road crossings no problem at all and very used to busy roads with all types of vehicles and machinery he at his best in the forest he’ll spend hours exploring giving us peace of mind he safe and sensible even leading horses through the more spookier areas he’ll go for a walk or a good canter happily jump away over all the rustics and logs show jumping we’ve taken part in so many showjumping clinics and shows he does perfer to follow the leader of on lead rein and will pop around a small course with rider but takes a little of a competent rider to take him round the bigger courses we have competed dressage on and off the lead rein last year qualifying for the great british champs under 12 at cricklands he’s a lunging expert walk trot canter and jumping to which my daughter spent the first year having weekly lessons on the lunging gaining her balance and seat he’s easy to catch and very sweet in the stablethis is a hard sale, he has so much to give and many more little people he can teach read morehe’s up to date with everything including teeth physio jabs trimminghe has lived out and stabled

Ted is a perfect lead rein to first ponyin the school he’s quiet which is where he is good at teaching to come off the lead rein, you can stand in the middle of the school and direct him to walk and trot and he will listen to you also he will follow youhe’s been to lots of shows and clinics winning lots of rosetteswe would like him to stay local and as my daughter is very upset to see him go we have agreed that he can go on a one months trial to check he’s in the right home as we want him to be in his next home for as long as he was with ushe’s been stabled all winter and has also been out most of a winterhe’s good to hack and can be hacked off lead rein, on lead rein or lead from another horsewhen hacking you can send all the horses cantering away from him and he’ll just stand therehe has a lovely slow rocking horse canter which is really good for learning to canter onhe has no vices and had no laminitishe’s got a cute little jump and will just trot over x poles, he doesn’t rush or over jump but if you want him to as your child’s confidence grows he can canter quietly without rushing over bigger jumps - great for learninghe’s good for farrier, clip and travelhe’s the best at teaching kids to go off the lead reincan come with some tack and all rugs read morewe’ve had him 4 years and he’s massively loved but sadly outgrownif he canters or trots along behind he’ll just go at his pacehe’s still only 8 so a lot of years to give a new familyhe loves attention and will stand to be groomed and can be completely handled by my daughter and has done since she was 4he’s good in traffic and isn’t spooky, been over bridges, through water everything that’s asked of him he does better behaved than the big horses

He is excellent in the heaviest of traffic, will hack alone or in company and will go first or lastup to date with vaccinations, teeth and backthey are not big or nasty and never to try and get you off, just his welsh characterhe is an absolute saint on the ground, will stand and be pampered all day longhe is your typical welshie in that he can throw an occasional buck, going into canter or out of boredomhe can also be a monkey to catch when the spring grass comes through, but given he gets fat on fresh air, restricted grazing is a must to keep his weight under control and this also makes catching him easierthis is a heartbreaking sale of my daughters best friend, but she has totally outgrown himhe loves to be in workin the 4 1/2 years we have owned him he has taken my daughter from being barely off the lead rein and unable to canter to out competing regularly and jumping 60+cm, but he is happiest at the height and ready to teach a little jockey all over againi could write for hours about him, he is adored by us, but he now needs a new little person to show the ropes too read morehe loves nothing more than to lick you to death! he's done pony club camp for the last 4 years, from poles on the ground at mini camp to 60+cm cross country, showjumping, grids, games, and hound exercisehe is perfect to clip, shoe and load, will stand at the side of a trailer all day long and you could easily forget he was there
