We have available 3 pairs (male, female) of grey south american rhea looking for new homesthey do not necessarily require shelter however a field shelter or stable when the weather is really horrid is appreciatedgood, kind homes only pleasethey are good forages and hardythe males can be protective in the breeding season but do not kick! they may peck but full advice can be provided as to how to combat thisfull support and advice availablethese inquisitive birds are 7/8 months old and are dna sexed (hence the yellow spray on them) and come with certificates for each birdthey can be kept in standard extended stock fencing however if startled, can jump 6ftthey are currently housed at night and go in for foodthese youngsters may possibly require protection from foxes still depending on your setupthey thrive on ostrich pellets and require plenty of space to exercise their legs so ideal in paddocks or orchard types of setup???? so what do you need to know? ???? adult rheas are easy to care for and can be treated much the same as poultry
