I started the engine for the first time last week and it fired up on the second crank but it’s not pumping water just a small trickle and won’t shift gears prop turns freely though i can turn my hand to lots of things but engines forget it and having been offered a a more river suitable 20hp engine have decided to let it go which is a shame as the power lift would be a godsend when i eventually launch off the trailer the engine appears fairly good condition apart from an aluminium plate on the port side that has two corrosion holes held in place by about 18 bolts and some peeling paint on the top of the engine cover it will also include the control unit if that’s what it’s called ie throttle ignition etc i’ve tried to describe the best i can and will upload more pictures a soon as i can as i’m away until the weekend read moresuzuki dt55 outboard engine with power tilt and trim this came with a project boat i purchased 6 months ago which i’m in the slow process of converting from a fast fishing boat to a day/weekend river boat

engine is 3ltr mercruiserbought as a project needing an enginewill need a few bits along the way to finish inc rear seat/engine cover (was going to make one) alternator and a few auxiliaries (fuel lines etc) comes with a great roller trailer though i’d advise buyer to change bearings as they don’t sound amazingasking back what it owes mewould make a fantastic boat once completebought a used running engine, but don’t have time or space to have it fitted and complete the project
