The orchestral playing by the london philharmonic orchestra and the glyndebourne chorus conducted by ben glassberg in l'elisir d'amore, thomas blunt and jonathan bloxham in rigoletto and david bates in rinaldo, and sehoon moon as nemorino, benedetta torre as admina and misha kiria as drl'elisir d'amore, had interesting scenery with a backdrop of an italian street building with period features, and an interesting telegraph pole with wires connected to the buildingthere were electric fireworks effects in the battle scene in act iiihandel's rinaldo had modernistic sets including bicycles in act irigoletto had subdued sets with a backdrop that appeared like a factoryhas photos and relevant informed articles about the current productions of l'elisir d'amore, (the potion of love), rigoletto and rinaldo, and the music and history of the various operasit featured the famous aria used in the harrods sale advert on tvthere were also echoes of st trinians in the confrontation rescue scene in act iidulcamara, nikoloz lagvilava as rigoletto, jake arditti as rinaldo and jacquelyn stucker as armida in rinaldo were excellent, along with the singing in the various 3 performancesthe costumes were rather kinky with leather outfits etc especially for almerena with a kinky leather skirt looking like ms whiplash and giving the impression of a kinky "madam"act iii also had beautiful coloured lights for the wedding festivitiesthe lighting was also good with yellow shadespostage extra or collect in person freesimilar to the recent iford production earlier this yearthe lighting was also interesting with orange streaming through the classroom windows in act ithere was a vintage car that also came onto the stagenot as interesting as the wno production with the white house as the theme, and the costumes were also subduedglyndebourne tour programme, elegant and stylish programme for autumn tour season
