He is a true rock crunching cob so is barefoot which doesn’t bother himhe has plenty of bone and feather which would make him the perfect traditional show cobhe has been a therapy pony for my 8 year old sister who has special needs for the last 2 years, he helps her through meltdowns by lowering his head to her, he is such a loving horsehe can adapt to suit any rider that he is paired with, wether it be your 90 year old granny or your new born baby, nervous or confident riders, jumpers or dressagers, hackers or endurance ridershe has been is a cart, however this is not his forte as he has not done a lot of work in this discipline2h, a good weight carrier, 12 years oldhe can rub if he is introduced to something new (ig new location etc) which is easily controlled by putting a few drops of lavender oil on his nose or a fly rughe is not strong and listens to his rider to the best of his ability and is always looking to pleasehe can be a little bit annoyed at the farrier but is never dangerous or nasty, just tends to pull his foot away sometimesblackjack is the 1 in a million horse and worth his weight in goldhe has done beach rides, fun rides, cross country, hunting and hacks daily on the open new forest with no problems at allbased in the new forest where he can be viewedyou name it he will do it! we have not succeeded in finding anything that spooks this horse, he is as bombproof as they comehe lives out all year round and can live on air, great doer??blackjack?? blackjack is awesome, he is the full packagehe loads like a saint and is used as a nanny horse for nervous loaders

He isn't a typical cob & can be spooky & sharp, we jokingly refer to him as a '' thoroughbred in a cob onesie'', so not suitable for novice ridersfor a number of years she then only hacked him out with friends & he last competed nearly 2 years ago at intro dressage where he came 2nd in both his classes in a large fieldhe's green, especially competitively as my daughter hasn't really done much with him, although when she 1st got him she did some sj, a show cross & in-hand showing & he was never out of the top 2he'll live in or out but currently stabled at nighthe also hasn't hacked out much in last couple of years, so would need his confidence building again, although prior to this he was hacked out regularly for hours at a time & he's forward goingmy daughter's instructor trains classically so this is how he's been rode, so would suit a rider interested in thismy daughter has had max for nearly 6 years & he's rising 10 but due to her study commitments she no longer has the time to do him justicedoes need sedation for clippingcurrently barefoot but has been shod in past when doing road workwe're looking for a forever home for max with an experienced, confident rider who can help him fulfil his potential & enjoy himupto date with vaccinations, teeth & worminghe can pop a jump but would need more work in this area
