If you have any questions about shetland fowl, please do not hesitate to contact mefor example when mated to a white egg layer, the resulting hen chicks will lay a light blue eggfrom my hatch of shetland poultry, i have 2 young cockerels available to knowledgable and enthusiastic poultry keepers with good, clean set-upsshetland cockerels carry the dominant green egg gene meaning that almost all hen chicks they produce will lay a blue/green egg (when mated to other breeds)hatched may this year so still not in their full adult glory but just starting to crow and tread the henstwo cockerels available (one of which has the preferred 'tappit') crest of head featherswith either cockerel, it is likely that 75% of off-spring will develop a 'tappit'shetlands are between bantam and large fowl in size so not overly large and can happily live with bantams if requiredthese boys are currently living happily together but i am happy to sell them separately

Heās a lovely looking chap with gorgeous blue eyesskewbald, three year old, standard shetland pony type (not registered) geldinghe is a shetland type but not overweight and doesnāt get fatheās happy to be left alone and doesnāt get attached to other horsesmy older horse has since been sold and now this little chap is by himself and in need of a new homehe loves his treats and starts to relax if the handler is calm and steady around himif he went in a huge paddock you wouldnāt get near himsadly i just donāt have the time to give him what he needshe is quiet and calm in the paddockyou can take others away and he doesnāt whinny or get sillywhen i bought him i was told heād not had a good start in lifehe is tricky to catch and needs to be kept in restricted turnout for this reasonbut then some days if a bird flies out of the hedge and spooks him then heāll think youāve hurt him and doesnāt want to knowthe good bits - tonto is a fantastic companioni donāt want much for him, but he isnāt free as i donāt want him ending up in the wrong handsheās just very nervous but with the stubbornness of a shetland! heās passported, wormed and feet trimmedhe comes over for food in a bucket and thatās how i catch himitās much easier having him in a smaller space, at least until he learns to trust youonce youāve got him, heās happy to be brushed and have a fussor to just be a companion and left alonethe not so good bits - although quiet, tonto is very nervous around peopleheās been stabled and is happy to be left in or go out on his own/with companyhe just needs a one to one, sympathetic handler to give him time and let him learn to trusthe is very easily spooked and very good at scaring himself! he is not suitable for children or novicesi purchased tonto a few months ago to be a companion pony to my older horse

Sad sale of our mini shetland peppa, she is 10yrs old blue and white, has bred beautiful foals, % in any traffic not bothered by anything, lives on fresh air never had lami, vacc upto date, loads and travels superbly, very patient with kids fussing and being loud around her, been on school visit dressed up and not fazed at all, been to shows behaved perfectly, just waiting to be a new little persons best friendcomes with cub saddle, bridle and two rugs

Sadly he was the only shetland chicken to hatch from some specially bought eggs last year (from yorkshire), and my current marans cockerel wonāt accept him now heās come of ageshetlands are a rare heritage breed (so rare this site doesnāt even have the breed on the drop down list!) and they lay blue eggs, so he will carry the blue egg gene meaning you can cross him with brown eggers and create olive eggers and have a beautiful rainbow egg basket this spring! aside from that he is also just simply stunningshadow is desperately in search of a new loving homecollection from dartmoor, or local delivery can be arranged
