Very elegant large black marble drumhead french mantle clock with bell strike and visible escapementthis clock works fine, chimes correctly and keeps good timethe back has a black slate opening panel to gain access to the pendulumthe dial has visible escapement whereby you can see the clock escapement working on the dialthere is slight marking next to numerals x and vi probably from where the clock owners in the past have used key to wind the two arbors but hardly noticeable and not affecting the clock at alloverall this is a heavy and stunning majestic victorian clock in good working order and in great condition as it would if been manufactured in the late s and you will need a strong mantle to site it or on a strong sideboard etcabsolutely no postage offered so if you are unable to view and collect personally please do not ask for courier delivery as we had a lovely antique clock damaged in transit last week and now have a beautiful but broken very old working clock, coming back to try and have repaired at our expense! if you are unable to collect personally please do not ask us to send with any couriers as they donāt compensate for damage to antiquesiāve taken a pic with back door off so you can view more easilyjohn hall paris name is on dial and also signed on the movementalso the gold medal stamp of japy freres is on the movement backplateapproximate dimensions are - 50cm tall x 57cm wide x 16cm depththis is a very heavy antique item and should be collected personally due to risk of damage in transitboth the dial and movement are signed john hall, paris, and the movement is stamped japy freresmedalle dāor there is a shapely beveled glass front panel and the ellicott pendulum can be seen through the glass panelthere are roman numerals to the dialat the top is another smaller door to access the movement

I am offering for sale this charming black and red marble Ā mantle clock with bell chimes, lots of silver coloured decorative features as shown in my picsthe clock Ā is in working order and marble has no visible signs of damage, the silver metal features are are very unusualthere is large metal opening back door and this clock strikes on a delicate bell at each half hour and on each hour it strikes the timethis makes me think the silver metal could be chrome plated in places? we would prefer personal collection due to fragile nature of this heavy clock so no postage is offerediām not sure what the silver metal is, maybe chrome? iām sure someone will let me know? the same silver colour is carried on with the bezel, numerals, decorative front detail and side pieces plus clock stands on 4 x 6cm diameter bun feetsame silver finish to dome top with acornthe four bun feet are each 6cms diametersmall pitting to one of the side holders but should not be a problemĀ there is the number 950 on movement and letters eb āthe e is reversed and joins the b) on the bell dimensions are - 37cm wide x 50cm tall x 19cms depthwe are based in alford east lincolnshire for collection if this helps?Ā payment in cash on personalĀ collection or paypal/bank transfer if you wish prior to collection or upon personal collection once youāve seen the clock? any questions please ask
