They were hatched on the 11th july so are 14 weeks oldorpington are also good layers and will produce between 5-7 eggs per week, they are also more hardy so will often lay through winter when others have stoppedlight sussex are excellent egg layers with mine not missing a day since she started laying at 19 weeksthe are crossed from a light sussex hen to a buff orpington cockerelthis is a great combination of birds, combining brilliant qualities from eachwill be easily tamed by feeding by hand which i already do and so will make lovely pets and egg layers
