It possibly would benefit from being replanted now to allow further growththe barrel is sound in its current place but has never been moved more than a few feet so i do not know if it would withstand a major move! i think that it would be ok to move itin half containerestablished fig tree that i purchased 15 years agolarge fig tree in half barrel containerthe barrel is also planted with beautiful lilies that flower every yearhowever, it is incredibly heavy and would be a 2-3 man job and you would need a trailer or low based vehicle for loadingthe fig tree has lived in this barrel since i purchased it
