So for sale here i have a choice of two black araucana cockerels - £ eachthe same can be said if one of these cockerels mates with a white egg layer such as white star, lakenvelder or white/brown leghornsif you are into breeding chickens, they can be crossed with lavender araucana hens & the offspring will lay a deeper blue egg - almost turquoiseif one of these cockerels is crossed with standard brown egg laying hens such as brown hybrids - the resulting offspring will have the genes for high output egg production but the shells of the eggs will be oliveblack araucana's are fairly rarethey are lovely boys, placid, easy to handle & beautiful with their jet black feathers, shot with navy blueupdate:- these two have now been sold but i found another cockerel in with the female black araucana'si just want them to go to a good appreciative home i am not a dealer or businessso i have one for sale nowthe females lay a good sized blue egg & what's more, lay quite a lot of them annuallyjust as beautiful as these & in perfect conditionthe strong blue gene will dominate & the offspring will lay beautiful blue eggsthank you for reading my adblue eggs seem to be popular these days with supermarkets charging premium prices for themjust before i took the photo's one dipped his head in the water bowl & so is looking a bit punk!! normally they have an attractive fluffy tuft of feathers on the top of their heads
