This is a great little art deco clockthis is a really nice little cherry wood art deco timepiece by the renowned clock makers ~ garrard of londonthis stylish art deco timepiece has undergone a sympathetic refinish to the case with a museum grade wax to bring out the natural grain and character of the cherry wood front and ebonised sides(measurements: w: 9¾”/d: 4¼”/h: 7”) read morethis face has been refinished in a soft cream enamel with brass chapter ringthe clock has been set in beat with the pendulum adjusted to run true on a level surfacethe hands are the original black painted finish and the bezel is highly polished with little signs of wear, it has the original convex glass, and it comes complete with the original garrard chrome pendulumthe solid brass 8 day movement is patent stamped and the case is stamped with serial numberthe clock dates from the period tothe movement has been treated to a sympathetic strip down; the main spring and all pivots, etc have been cleaned and checked for wear, then re-oiled using specialist synthetic clock oils

Nonetheless it's worth looking at their site for the background information on this art deco sculptora similar object, albeit 9 cm taller, was sold by christie's auctioneers in london in for ÂŁi originally intended to put this family piece on for ÂŁ and it was only when doing an internet search late one evening to see if this was perhaps too much that i came across the similar piece on christie's sitei have put ÂŁ as a starting pricechristie's will not auction off this piece because it is too small in scale and price for their operations which was understandable if a little disappointingi'm particularly happy to sell to a dealerthe piece i have for sale is similarly signed by crejo on the hem which hopefully shows up, somewhat, in the photopamono would not accept the piece because they only buy from dealers
