The balance is very intricate & finely madeantique boxed coin balance/scales that i have owned for over 35 years2 slots are for weighs & one for the early iron balance itselfpostage includes being signed forall hollowed out from a single piece of woodthe box measures approx 6 3/4" long at its longestit's amazing it's survivedit still has its original silk tassel to hold them byit's hook & hinges are all hand made from wirein expected used but good condition for an item of this agethere are 3 compartments insidethe pans have small circles on their inside, which is a nice touchthere is green velvet inside, which has a little expected warethe pointer needle is almost like a needle it's so fineplease do your own research can post at extra costthe hardwood box is in lovely condition & looks like mahoganythey look very early to me, i suspect from around the mid 'sthey have a nice hand written label on the inside of the lid, which states "foreign coin & english coin"
