The balance is very intricate & finely madeantique boxed coin balance/scales that i have owned for over 35 years2 slots are for weighs & one for the early iron balance itselfthey look very early to me, i suspect from around the mid 'sthe pans have small circles on their inside, which is a nice touchit's amazing it's survivedit still has its original silk tassel to hold them bythey have a nice hand written label on the inside of the lid, which states "foreign coin & english coin"the hardwood box is in lovely condition & looks like mahoganythere are 3 compartments insideit's hook & hinges are all hand made from wirethere is green velvet inside, which has a little expected warein expected used but good condition for an item of this agethe pointer needle is almost like a needle it's so finethe box measures approx 6 3/4" long at its longestpostage includes being signed forplease do your own research can post at extra costall hollowed out from a single piece of wood
