*reserved pending collection* african clawed frog - adult male these little guys make great pets, even for beginners, they will however eat anything that fits in their mouths, including smaller frogs, fish, snails, shrimp, gravel! so they are recommended for either species only tank or kept with much larger fishhe has been kept here with larger fish with no issues at allan ideal tank is about 12” deep to allow them easy access to the surfacethey can be hand fed once they know you & it’s believed they learn to recognise faces of ownersi have chosen not to use substrate for himregular water changes would also work if the chlorine is removed from the tap waterthey do not need access to any “land”, in fact they can only actually survive 20 mins maximum out of waterhe comes to the surface to breath air every few minutes so any tank needs to have a gap between the surface & lid to allow for thissome people sit a suction soap dish just below the surface to make them a shelf / bed which they seem to enjoyhe can live inside a warm room without a heater, but also would happily to live in a heated tank once acclimatisedhe makes a wonderful trilling noise a lot of the time from under the waterone frog would be perfectly content in a 24” x 12” x 12”this is definitely a male as he has the classic black palms on the front feet, as per his pictures, he is also slightly smaller than the femalesit is recommended that sand or large rocks is used as a substrate or nothing, as they will eat anything on the bottom whilst looking for food & this can get impacted & be fatalhe will eat fresh, frozen or freeze dried blood worm, prawns, shrimp, earthworms, etcit is not recommended to use an air pump as it can saturate the water with too much oxygen for these frogs, so he is best without onehe has benefited from a small filter, but he’s not a messy petthey can’t hear as they have no ears, so work on vibrations
