The chairs were re-upholstered with new woven straw about 15 years agoi inherited the furniture 25 years ago and have used it with love ever since, but we are remodelling our house and need a lighter tablewe are sure all of this can be sanded and polished awaythe central panel/surface has seen some action and so is paler than the darkly-varnished extension panels, having been slowly 'sanded' by use, and there are a few scratches to this section and one significant dark cup-ringthe extension sections slide out on solid rods from under a central anchored piece and fall snugly into placechairs 99cm high, seat 48cm (at widest point) x 40cmfive chairs & lovely carver chaircarver chair 107cm high, seat 54cm (at widest point) x 43cmthe chairs are easier to carrytable: length 137cm (227cm when extended); width 84cm; height 73cmit's heavy, solid, and of excellent qualitythe table comes apart into a complete base section and three surface sectionsi cannot date the set exactly but its companion piece, a jacobean-style dresser (not for sale) was recently valued about about £ when it needed an insurance repair, and at the time the estimated period was s

Sheldon joined us 2 years ago - but sadly, due to us relocating, he'll now need a new 'forever home'he'll be around 5 years old in the summer & has a lot of life in him yetunless he's suddenly become a stealthy hunter (though he can be a pretty good 'mouser' when he feels like it)once he's used to you, he'll sit on your lap and purr contentedlyhe's been used to dogs, cats, and giant pheasants where we live(!) - and hasn't worried about any of themsheldon, 'shelley' was named prior to coming to uswe suspect we have a neighbour somewhere who has started feeding him treats, as he's put a little bit of weight on - and he's not been getting more from ushe looks even better when he's not being overfed! hopefully, you'll not have the same issuehe has been neutered and is regularly treated with frontline spot-on (the only flea treatment that works where we live) and is flea & worm freeif you think you'd like a sheldon, and can give him the love he deserves, please do get in touchwe're sure he'd love a cat-loving family who would give him more time than we canhe has a good nature and can happily live with other pets and childrenhe can be a bit nervous with new people at first (just for a while) - when we first brought him home, he hid under the sofa for the most part of two days! obviously, he gave up in the end and became a good family cat, full of characterhe's happiest when lazing about in bed or in the sun in the garden (he doesn't wander far)he has a microchip that you'll need to have changed at the vets
