The Micro SD card has shot up in popularity solely because most mobile phones manufacturers (except Sony Ericsson) now use it for storage; it’s cheaper for them than internal memory and a lot easier for you to move photos and videos around. However until very recently transferring to a PC has meant not only removing the micro SD card from the phone but finding the adapter to convert it into a standard SD card and also then the card reader. arlier this year at a show I saw a natty device on a keyring of a top US employee of SanDisk and I requested one, his was red/black but by the time it was available in the UK it had become black and grey. A friend of mine was looking for a memory card as a stocking filler at Christmas for his teenage daughter's new phone. He had no idea how much one would cost, but had an idea they might be £20 or more. Since I had made many bargains on ebay,and confess to be an ebay freak, I suggested that we have a look in the "bargain bible". The prices ranged from about £5 to £15 for a 2gb card. We chose a SANDISK from a british seller at a rock bottom price that included the adapter and a reader. His daughter was over the moon and had nearly filled it with music by the 27th. In a joint venture with SanDisk, Sony released a new Memory Stick format on February 6, 2006. The Memory Stick Micro (M2) measures 15 × 12.5 × 1.2 mm (roughly one-quarter the size of the Duo) with 64 MB, 128 MB, 256 MB, 512 MB, 1 GB, 2 GB, 4 GB, 8 GB, 16 GB, and 32 GB capacities available. The format has a theoretical limit of 32 GB and maximum transfer speed of 160 Mbit/s. However, as with the PRO Duo format, it has been expanded through the XC series as Memory Stick XC Micro and Memory Stick XC-HG Micro, both with the theoretical maximum capacity of 2 TB.In a joint venture with SanDisk, Sony released a new Memory Stick format on February 6, 2006. Ideal for Sony Ericsson Mobile Phones
With the 2GB M2, I can save an entire playlist of 200 or more songs which I can listen to when on the road on my mobile phone. The only problem would be the size of the card. As it is very small, I don't encourage that you pluck it in and out of the phone when transferring files, and choose some other mode of transferring (like via bluetooth or cable). With the memory space, it can also help you to enhance your phone experience (provided that the phone is compatible) as you will be able to download applications of your choice. There is no much to say about such a product because there's nothing to compare with, you either need it or you don't. I bought it for my Nokia 7500 Prism. The card is very small and compact and comes with SD MicroSD/TransFlash adapter what is very useful if you have some more electronic gadgets with memeory card slots in your household. The card comes in so-called Bulk package what means it has a clear storage case (great for keeping that adapters while you don't need them) and doesn't have any sealed package. Hovewer it's not so good if you buy this item from eBay because you can't know if it was used or no. £6 inc. P&P is very good value for money that give you a plenty of storage for your photos, songs, games, videos and whatever you want. It's very easy to use - you need nothing to do ...
