I am quite happy to give an overall rating. However, I don't feel like putting a product review in as well.. Please change this so don't have to... Come on, some feedback is better than none !!
Having bought and loved the two previous Kasabian cd's - liking this cd was a foregone conclusion, or so I thought! How wrong can you be - in my opinion this isn't a patch on the earlier stuff. There are probably a couple of tracks (Vlad the Impaler and Fire) that MIGHT have made it on to the previous cd's but all the other tracks sound like hippy-dippy harmonious rubbish with no life and no 'go' about them. Obviously, this is only my opinion, and I'm sure some people will love it, but, sadly, it's not for me and will be going straight back on e-bay as soon as I get sorted.
Thank god but Kasabian are back with a vengeance! Their last CD was not their usual eclectic addictive standard but this CD rocks. Will suit all tastes from indie to rock - it's been in my car on repeat and I simply love every track however UNDERDOG and WHERE DID ALL THE LOVE GO are simply triumphant - go on Oasis beat this if you dare !!
Now Kasabian are without a doubt the best band to come out of England since the turn of the century and this album contains one of the best records since the turn of the century also. "Underdog" is a massive tune and epitimises the bands sound perfectly, however, as an album this one dosn't really offer much more. Too many slow tracks that never really go anywhere and not enough big guitar riffs, heavy drums or sadly, incredible lyrics. This album "is" worth purchasing if you're a real fan though as it does get better with time. I'd rate it as an 7/10 but I know theres much more to come from this outstanding band with thier totally unique sound. Keep up the good work.
