I bought Canon PowerShot to give it as a gift to someone for her birthday. I have one myself and found it very functional. It is very handy and light. Very easy to operate and the pictures are excellent. The price is also excellent and delivery to my place was fast. Apart from being a compact camera, it has a good zoom as well, and you can take photos as well as videos. Taking everything in consideration I think it's a bargain!
Exceptional value for money considering several hard to find features such as an optical viewfinder, and it uses AA batteries - photo lithium, or Duracell NiMh 2600 mAH rechargables advised. No need to use 12M pixels for excellent 6x8" size prints, 1600x1200 sufficient. Amazing digital zoom feature up to x20 if 1600x1200 pixel size quality used.
Having a viewfinder makes photo taking in sunlight very easy. Would have liked a "museum" or "aquarium feature. Accessories such as a/v lead and case should be in pack with camera as these have to be bought separately
Bought this for my husband as he likes a small camera to fit in his shirt pocket. This is just the right size and so light. Great picture quality an ideal point and shoot camera with a few extra options if required.
Its main draw backs are that it can have a significant delay that prevents catching the moment in action shots. Also, dropping the camera can fracture the screen and affects the software and consequently its function. This happened to my previous A1200 but I replaced it with the same model nevertheless because I could not find another at the price with the same features.
