I purchased one of these recently and to be honest it is the worst piece of IT I have ever bought in over 30 years. Out of the box from new they have a number of issues which mine exhibited:- 1) The touch screen has problems with ghost touch, i.e. you touch the screen but it could register a good 4 inches from where you touched the screen. Dell are aware of the fault but have no fix 2) Most owners find the SD Card slot stops working or doesnt even work from brand new. Again Dell are aware and only suggest that the units are shipped back for a replacement motherboard to be fitted. 3) Underclocked CPU's. Dell do this to give long battery life, but even with the i5 model it is simply too underpowered to even run Bitdefender on it. In fact bit defender will not install on this unit. 4) Want to reset to factory? No chance, the hard drive doesn't have the required files on it to do it. Dell are aware and will send out media if you are the original purchaser 5) Want to turn on the tablet using the on off switch? Well good luck with that, again another known fault on all venue 11's which makes it a lottery if you can even turn it on from cold. 6) Hey its got a powerful i5 processor which is underclocked so should run cool and use little battery... Hmmm no, the tablet gets extremely hot in minor tasks, which leads to CPU throttling while the very noisy fan cools it down. So, bottom line is it well built, well yes and no, you can remove the back to replace the battery or hard drive, and feels nuclear proof, but it is very heavy, and is riddled with production/design faults. Would I buy another, definitely not. Mine went back for refund and I am now on a HP X2 11-h003 which is a 2GHz processor, runs cool and has its own keyboard dock supplied from new. Best of all the HP X2 runs cool no matter what I throw at it, it will run bitdefender and all slots work as they should even the USB3 slot. To be honest this has put me off Dell completely now as the venue has been out for a number of years and still has the same issues it had from day one.Read full review

Just a note to counter the bad review on this model. The Dell venue pro 11 7140 doesn't have a cooling fan it's cooled passively, so the bad review Must be for a different model
