Fantastic camera. I bought this before going on holiday as I wanted a variety of functions including the colour-pick feature and miniturisation feature for some of my scenic shots. Its great, I mean very impressive. Very easy to use. All the instructions are included on a CD rather than a massive booklet, but its so logical and simple to use that I haven't needed to consult it. Its depth of focus is great, especially under low-light conditions (for which there is a feature) and the 14x zoom produces great quality pictures. The camera is savvy enough to work out when you are wanting to do macro (i.e. close up) shots and it will automatically enable it. All in all - its the best camera I have bought to date and will be looking forward to using it in the future.
Its so easy to use love the colour I live on the edge of a woodline near Dartmoor Devon and it is so easy to zoom in to catch those small birds etc and the distance I can capture is great the video is so real when playing back (my black cocker spaniel dog trying to catch snowballs "Priceless") all round I would recommend this cameera to anyone I have read some comments ref when you turn on the camera the flash flips up which has not gone down well with some people personally I don't find it a problem at all. So if you want a good reliable camera with good zoom video playback and excellent photo's this is it.
After downgrading from an SLR I chose a canon as I am used to the brand and have confidence in the products. The camera produces sharp pictures at the short to medium end of the telephoto but don't look for the same quality as an SLR at the long end. I miss viewfinder as I found the screen reflects a lot in sunshine and made some of my pictures of subjects hit or miss affairs. Light to carry but feels solid enough and very compact fits in pocket.
