Replacement for an older camera that stopped working. Went with Panasonic knowing it is a company that produces solid products. This one is solid as expected!

I think for the time it came out , it was good , but now days it seems to me a bit of a waste, the battery life doesn't have a very good stamina and image once put onto pc isnt very good quality your better off paying a little bit more and getting a more recent one, the best cameras out at the moment are DVD camera's The are more efficient and are less expensive to repair, the viewfinder on my NVDS60 went and they wanted 125 to fix it , at some places, so i recomend you skip this one and get something thats going to last a bit longer, in another note , the support offered for this camera is minimal and panasonic only have an online manual for it , so if you get into trouble with it , chance are they will just send you to one of their ecomended repair shops , ( which in my experience cost £££££££££'s) on the plus size its very light and fast, andthe interface is very easy and simple to use, but there are no outstanding features exclusive to this camcorderRead full review
First of all I have just got mine and I haven't put it through it paces, yet :) I have another Panasonic Camera which led me into buying this one, its fairly compact as a Mini DV camera (there are smaller now) I like the built in light and the screen sems to be nice and clear. I will be using mine to record video from several local music festivals in Cumbria (BFest, Solfest, Cock Rock and Maryport Blues) for the local papers Website (Times and Star) I do not need quality to make Hollywood epics, but I do need a clear picture and decent sound which this appears to have, I will be buying another battery off E-bay to improve my duration but it feels right, looks right and works right for the money I paid its a real steal. I do prefer the Mini DV format to HDD recorders and DVD as some of these appear to use their own bizarre formats to record meaning that I still have to use a Firewire connection to get the footage into Premiere.Read full review
the camcorder works great it takes a good picture and is very easy to use. well worth the money.....
I did purchase a camcorder a much earlier version of this model. Value for money I think I had a good deal.
