I bought this camera as an upgrade from the Sony a5000, which is a very basic camera. Initially I went for the 6300 due to the video capabilities... 4K recording, and 120fps at 1080p! The photo quality is really good too! It’s really not tricky to learn how to use the camera, and especially as there are so many great photographers and videographer on YouTube that use the Sony alpha series, giving tutorials. The camera was an absolute bargain, brand new on eBay so I’m more than happy with my purchase.

With its compact size and perfect image quality (with a good prime lens, not the kit lens) makes it the best choice for a good travel/always with you camera. No more DSLRs, "meh its too big and heavy to carry" =) ps.: the kit lens is not bad at all, but it has some issue with the high fstops

I am surprised with this kit lens - it is so good. Some people saying that this lens is not good, but what I found - it is pretty decent lens. Camera is excellent, especially in 4K mode. 1080p on the other hand has slight problem with low light condition, but that is nothing new - most cameras has the same problem. So far, no overheating, but it is winter time. Will see next summer. 4K video is good even at moon light - you can videotape landscape with very little noise, yet colors are preserved. Photo mode is even better: 6000x4000 pixels! That is awesome! Additional bonus thing is that even 4K video can be recorded with SD card class 10, just use 60 Mb/s instead 100 Mb/s, and the same is for 1080p at 120 fps. For maximum quality, SD card should be also class 10, but with designation U3. Just one thing that is not so good is accessibility of the buttons - camera is small, and somewhat hard to find buttons with my thick fingers, but that is just a detail. Thanks.Read full review

I have had a NEX7 for many years and this camera is like a NEX7 on steroids. I was very impressed. I had to return my particular purchase because there were spots on the sensor. The spots could have been dirt but it could also have been a damaged sensor. I couldn't take the risk. In my experience Sonys are quite expensive to service.

shoots okay 4K video, no 2K option which is a shame. 1080p with 100fps is great. Has quite severe rolling shutter and no internal image stabilization is a pain if you are shooting a lot of action. The Image stabilization in the lens is quite non-existing for the 4K video. The 16-50mm has no manual focus which was a horrible surprise. Also taking macro shots is super hard and frustrating as the focus point is quite far away. The 16-50mm lens has great electronic zoom with 2 different controls for it, very smooth and accurate. Autofocus is very good on moving targets can recommend. You cannot take pictures while taking video or if you are in the video mode. the interface for menu and buttons are poor to be honest. form-factor wise the camera fits nicely in your hand and almost as well in your jackets pocket. More than happy to take this to the set than my old DSLR. in the summer of 2019 if you pay less than 700€ for the combo you are getting an okay 4K video machine for your money. I would recommend this for video shooting with the 1080p 100fps it looks very good.Read full review
