As a learner of 2nd Cornet parts, to play along with a Salvation Army Band in the Christmas carolling, I found the mouthpiece I had (7c) was not ideal for lower notes. A friend and band member suggested a deeper cup in the mouthpiece for playing in the lower register but I was a little sceptical. Having tried the new mouthpiece last night, I was blown away by the lovely deep mellow tone I was able to achieve, as a player with limited experience and ability. It was also possible to play a high G with the mouthpiece although it is ideal for lower and mid range notes, for my Bb cornet, where good quality notes can be played in relative comfort. The deep cup is ideal for these lower notes and higher notes are possible but slightly more challenging. I am delighted with this product. Many similar mouthpieces can cost around £60 so fabulous value for a very well finished mouthpiece that is already giving a lot of pleasureRead full review

This mouthpiece is excellent for a beginner before I brought it I could barely get a sound from a cornet now I can sound notes that actual sound like a musical note.

It is as described: Great for lower register but a little challenging for the high notes. I keep it as a spare. John Cockle
