Very pleased with the XG81. Picture is excellent, the HDR capability really makes the picture vivid and lifelike. I had my mind set on the OLED version. But I find the blacks and darks images look great, so I’m pleased I didn’t spend the extra £1300. Generally I don’t watch a film worrying about if an image could be blacker. But if if you have that sort of cash kicking about then go for it. The screen looses its punch a little when viewed from the side, I.e greater than 60deg from centre. Not an issue if you watch more or less dead on. I went from a 37” LCD TV, viewed at about 3m away, to this 65”. It was overwhelming big at first but you get used to it very quickly. Very pleased I went for a 65” rather than the 55”. The speakers on the tv are good, however I generally don’t use them as the tv is linked with a surround sound system. Fine for tv viewing I would say, I.e news, game shows. Viewing anything cinematic then I would recommend getting a surround sound system - it will complete the home cinema experience.Read full review
