This pump was fitted to a single kitchen mixer tap that had poor flow from a gravity fed hot water system. The pump transformed the poor flow to perfectly acceptable. The flow switch requires the tap to be turned full on to activate the pump. Anything less and it doesn't activate. Neither does it activate if the cold tap is turned on at the same time, so the tap won't work as a mixer tap.. Sometimes the pump won't activate until the cold is turned on and off again for some reason despite having a check valve fitted in the hot supply. All sounds a little off putting, but in fact we are quite pleased with it once we got used to the quirks. The pump is mounted on the rear of the sink cabinet, connected by flexible pipes and is clearly audible in the adjacent room when working but not annoyingly so. Reliability unknown as it's only been fitted a short while.Read full review

My flat has a cold water tank that is only at head height, so the hot water pressure is very low and isn't enough for a mixer tap. I bought this pump to raise the pressure at my kitchen sink, so that I could use a mixer tap and an instant water heater but it failed to raise the pressure enough to set off the water heater which only required 0.6 Bar to operate. This pump was rated at 1.0 Bar but it didn't reach this pressure at all, so the entire system had to be scrapped.

This pump was used to for boosting the pressure of the hot water pressure in my bungalow which has very low water pressure on the hot water system due to the storage tank being only 2 ft above the highest tap outlet. The pump sends plenty of water to the taps now and is quite quiet in operation. This is very noticeable as the previous pump was an AC brushed motor and was very noisy. This one, being an induction motor, only produces a low pitched hum. Not sure why the inlet and outlet of the flow sensor are different sizes or what the supplied adapter is for, but a simple 12mm to 15mm adapter sorted the problem.

Only real issue concerns the pipe connections which are of BSP thread but parralel, not tapered (external), and with un-machined internal bore, so unable to take pipe + olive; so very difficult to achieve a water tight connection. In operation, found it impossible to stop the pump from cycling on & off after kitchen tap turned-off (having followed the good instructions for dealing with this problem); this is possibly due to kitchen tap having very small bore supply pipe causing too much back pressure hence stopping the pump shut-off valve from operating properly. We now keep pump switched-off except when running bath/shower. Over-all.........satisfied.......wait to see what life expectancy will be! G.W.
