In nice clean condition commensurate with age this lovely 19th century travelling chest is made from mahogany and features cast ironhandles at each endhaving a lovely deep patina the overall dimensions are approximately: l 98 x w 46 x d 46cms the internal depth of the lid section is approximately 10cms and the base interior is 31cms giving a total internal depth of 41cmsmortice & tenon jointed to each corner and with feature riveted wrap around iron bracing sections to each end5cms length and the fixed section/candle box is 42the original locking plate/mechanism is still intact but it is missing the key and the original lifting ring for the lid is missing the bottom section (see photographs)happy to assist in finding competitive courier costs if necessary? read morethe interior is wooden lined and with a fixed internal section/candle boxinternal width is 42

No loose pages, however, with lovely photography of scottish scenesoxfam books & music islington collection of 3 photo albums, late 19th century, and spage edges are all giltone album helpfully labels the pictures, while the other does not, though there are photographs by signposts, which offer clues all albums are not fully completethe flower album is a heavy book, and would have been handsome when new - bound in full leather with impressed decoration on front and back, and a strong metal claspthe spine, however, is missing, and the covers badly rubbed and worn, particularly at the cornersthe two scottish photo albums are much of a size, one being considerably more worn than the other - indeed, the front cover is detached, with the spine coveringsadly, as so often with family albums, there is no clue as to the identity of the people depicted - but perhaps they were members of george miller's familytwo of these albums feature photographs of scotland, evidently taken during two different motoring holidays (the cars featured have different number plates)inside, the binding is firm with no loose pages; pages are all rather grubby and somewhat foxed; photos placed randomly through the volume5cm see oxfam website for delivery information read morethe third is a presentation 'flower album' given to one george miller by his twelve classmates in the bible class, possibly at a school founded by archibald reith (whose memorial features in one of the photographs)19 x 26 x 3cm / 20 x 27 x 3 cm / 23
