East sussex smallholders are back for the summer season with the new point of lay garden chickenswe are open every day for chicken collection, including this mothers day - we always have a good selection of: light sussex rhode rock / miss pepperpot blue haze / bluebelle gold speckedly skyline (blue / green egg layers) brown farm rangers calder red / french red our hens are lovingly cared for by us at our 5 acre smallholding, where we try to live as self sufficiently as possible, rearing our own food and vegetable gardenour ladies are all vaccinated, and at 18 weeks old, they have just started laying their first small eggsplease bear in mind before making a journey to see us - this isn't a corporate business with lots of staff, but a family home and garden, so definitely call or text to check we are available for visitors before comingif you have any spares, we will gladly take them:¬) we were delighted to be selected as the consultants by the production crew, and we recently featured as the chicken supplier to marcus wareings "tales from a kitchen garden" - where we taught smallholding skills and chicken keeping to celebrity chef and tv star marcus, on his journey to run his own smallholding up the road from us - so you can be sure that you are buying chickens from a very reputable sourceyou will also need to bring a cardboard box, dog crate, cat carrier, as we don't tend to have spare boxes here
