Hens are £10 each as point of lay nowfemales normally lay their very first eggs at 8-10weeks old,some may not lay till weeks old but this depends on the temperature outside & the females mood/housing but all of ours have laid at 9-10weeks oldwe don’t have any newly hatched chicks & we won’t have any now till april/may as the breeding season has now come to an endour quails love to have sand baths so we provide them with boxes full of playsand & they love to lay in them & sun bathethey also have oyster shell grit scattered over the coop floor as this help the male & female quails to grind up & digest their food more easily & also helps the females lay nice normal eggshere at quailmadness we hatch out our very own corturnix/japanese quails from our very own female & male quailsall of our quails are fed organic layers pellets & organic mixed corn & love fresh salad & vegetables which they have on a daily basis aswell as garden worms & ants which they love to dig forthey are all currently living at room temperature but they can either go outside now/in a couple of week or they can stay indoors till springwe do sell hatching eggs for delivery/postage or collection but currently out of stock as not getting many eggs per day now due to the colder weatheranymore information then please get in contactwe also don’t have any older quails availableonly 13 females left now out of 28or we can deliver upto mins away from longleat area of wiltshire for a small fee to cover fuel & my time,cash on delivery or paypal before handing overthey are all now 8weeks oldthey are also eating layers pellets & mixed corncash on collection or paypal once here to collect

Cuckoo marans lay a dark brown egg, often shiny, and often the pigment takes about a month to come in fully to their eggshellstheir sisters' eggs can be seen to give you an idea of what they are likely to lay in the futurenormally i sell them at 18 weeksthe hatching eggs are £1they are now about 22 weeks old and have already laid a few small eggs as i have kept them longer than usualthey are £28 each again this year but i'm happy to sell the trio for £75i also have eggs for sale, believed fertile, from the parent group(i do not inbreed my pure breed chickens because i don't think it's healthy for them) i prefer my pol hens to go to a home which is as free range as possible as this breed can easily run to fat if they don't get sufficient exercise and, of course, like all chickens, they like to forage and to eat grass each dayi hatched a small number of chicks last autumn and raised them through the wintertruth to tell i've been reluctant to sell these three hens too soon, partly because of the ai lockdown and partly because they stand out from my mixed hatch as really cheeky and proper characters75 each and the cockerel in the group is from a breeder in nottingham who shows his eggs, although not his birdsthey are pure bred cuckoo marans from my own breeding flock and despite the lockdown have been kept outside since 5 weeks but protected by netting overhead and down the sides of their pentheir mothers are quite good layers, despite the breed having a reputation for a short laying season and their slightly older sisters have laid almost all the way through the winter
